Join us in a space to discuss your work and learn more about what Equine Assisted Psychotherapy looks like in practice

No experience with horses is required or assumed! What is useful is a case you're sitting with and some curiosity about what it might look like from a different angle.

The Round Pen is a consultation group for therapists, counselors, social workers, and helping professionals of all orientations. It is also an introduction to equine-assisted psychotherapy as lived clinical practice.

Each session, one or two participants present a case. We begin with the clinical dynamics: what's stuck, what's moving, what the clinician notices in themselves. Then we take the material to the horses.

The horses respond to what is present: relationally, nonverbally, in their own register. Transference and countertransference patterns that are difficult to articulate sometimes become visible in a different way out there. Participants often find it clarifying in ways they didn't quite expect.

The group is held as a consultation space. Confidential, clinically grounded, and with the same quality of care we would want for any reflective professional container. As in any psychodynamic process, inner material may arise, and that is held with attention and care.
